This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the design, orchestration, and optimization of enterprise-scale data workflows in a cloud environment. You will take ownership of building and managing reliable, automated data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and operational insights. Working with modern technologies like Snowflake, dbt, Python, and orchestration tools such as Dagster, you will ensure efficient, secure, and scalable data operations. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, a high degree of autonomy, and effective collaboration with technical teams and leadership. - Design, implement, and orchestrate data pipelines using Dagster to enhance ingestion, transformation, and data quality workflows
- Develop Python-based ingestion pipelines for integrating APIs and third-party systems where pre-built connectors do not exist
- Manage and optimize Snowflake infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) and apply best practices in cloud data engineering
- Build and maintain dbt transformation workflows to produce curated, trusted datasets for analytics and operations
- Optimize query performance and reduce compute costs through tuning, monitoring, and resource management
- Implement CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and observability frameworks to ensure pipeline reliability, data freshness, and anomaly detection
- Ensure robust data security, access controls, and compliance with governance standards
- Document workflows, system architectures, and configurations to ensure reproducibility, transparency, and compliance
- Collaborate across data engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver projects on time and demonstrate measurable impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud data warehouse development
- Expertise in SQL and dbt for data transformation and curated dataset creation
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and managing infrastructure with IaC tools like Terraform
- Proficiency in Python for pipeline development, automation, and API integrations
- Strong experience with orchestration tools like Dagster (or Airflow) for event-driven pipelines
- Proven track record implementing CI/CD workflows and automated testing for data pipelines
- Experience developing observability frameworks to monitor data freshness, quality, and reliability
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and attention to detail, especially with sensitive systems
- Strong communication skills, collaboration, and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Preferred: experience in financial services, large-scale orchestration systems, and designing data governance practices
- Competitive salary range: $141,500 – $162,500 annually, based on experience and location
