This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the architecture, governance, and execution of financial systems in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. You will be the primary owner of the company’s financial systems stack, overseeing reconciliation pipelines, close automation, and reporting infrastructure while ensuring audit readiness. Partnering with accounting, capital markets, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business requirements into reliable, scalable solutions. Your work will directly impact financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. This position demands both deep accounting expertise and strong technical skills, empowering you to implement and refine data models, controls, and processes. You will operate with high autonomy while influencing cross-functional teams to ensure financial data integrity and system effectiveness.
- Own the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of financial systems infrastructure, including reconciliation pipelines, reporting tools, and close automation
- Serve as the technical lead for loan accounting data flows, CECL models, and other complex financial datasets
- Develop and govern data schemas, accounting tables, and reporting structures to support accurate and audit-ready financial reporting
- Execute automated reconciliations across internal and external systems, resolving exceptions and building scalable solutions
- Partner with controllers and finance leaders to ensure controls, process documentation, and audit readiness
- Lead evaluation and implementation of third-party tools or internal system builds to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence upstream data, accounting, and product decisions
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in accounting operations, financial systems, or data-intensive accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 310 (Loan Accounting), and CECL methodology
- CPA license required (active or inactive) and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience at a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm preferred
- Advanced SQL proficiency for building, maintaining, and auditing complex queries against large datasets
- Experience managing reconciliation infrastructure or close automation in fintech, lending, or financial services
- Strong documentation skills for processes, controls, and audit-ready technical memos
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to balance technical execution with strategic thinking in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or AI-native ERPs a plus
