This role is a high-impact opportunity within a fast-growing finance organization, where you will take ownership of U.S. tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. Acting as a key individual contributor, you will work across federal, state, local, and select international tax matters while partnering closely with Finance, Legal, and external advisors. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate tax reporting, supporting strategic business initiatives, and maintaining compliance in a complex regulatory environment. You will contribute directly to acquisitions, restructuring efforts, and ongoing business expansion from a tax perspective. This is a highly collaborative and hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented setting. You will also help strengthen processes, controls, and scalability as the organization continues to expand.
In this role, you will manage end-to-end tax compliance and reporting activities while supporting planning, audits, and cross-functional financial initiatives. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment across all tax-related processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance, including preparation, review, and coordination of tax returns with external advisors.
- Support international tax compliance and reporting, including transfer pricing and foreign tax filings where applicable.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740 in coordination with external partners.
- Partner with FP&A and Accounting teams to support tax forecasting, effective tax rate analysis, and financial reporting alignment.
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives related to acquisitions, restructurings, and new business activities.
- Support indirect tax compliance (sales & use, property, excise) and assist with audit processes as needed.
- Own tax account reconciliations, documentation, and internal control support for audits.
- Monitor tax law changes and communicate business impact to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Legal on entity management, intercompany agreements, and tax-related contractual matters.
- Support integration of acquired entities from a tax compliance and reporting perspective.
- Respond to tax authority inquiries and support audits with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation standardization, and scalable tax controls.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise, hands-on experience in compliance and reporting, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating across multiple functions and external advisors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax environments.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax regulations.
- Solid understanding of ASC 740 tax accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting tax audits and working with external tax advisors or firms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with disciplined documentation practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Legal, and cross-functional teams.
- CPA certification or Master’s degree in Tax is a plus.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments is highly desirable.
- Exposure to international tax, indirect tax, or M&A activities is a plus.
- Competitive base salary ($127,000 – $135,000 annually)
