POSITION SUMMARY:(WHAT, HOW, WHY)
Responsible for developing and sustaining community partnerships that provide meaningful work opportunities for participants in Group Employment services. Additionally, this role coordinates in-house work projects by acting as a liaison between disability programming and the industrial services department. By cultivating relationships with local businesses and organizations, the Coordinator identifies and secures external work placements tailored to participant abilities and goals. Internally, they collaborate with production teams to design and schedule work projects that align with participant needs while ensuring production standards and timelines are met. This includes ongoing communication, planning, and problem-solving across departments. This role is essential to bridging the gap between vocational programming and real-world work experiences, empowering individuals with disabilities to gain valuable skills, contribute meaningfully, and achieve greater independence. It also ensures that internal work opportunities are both purposeful for participants and productive for the organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
High School Diploma Required.
EXPERIENCE:
1) Five years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities
2) Must be able to pass criminal background check, and various registry and database checks
(abuser registry check, nurse aide registry etc.)
3) Supervisory and/or coordinator experience in a vocational setting or the DD field preferred
4) Experience with formal analytical duties and fiscal responsibilities.
5) Experience with developing a professional workforce in a social service setting.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of work/personal adjustment methodology. Understanding of the functional impact of
developmental disabilities on work performance. Ability to clearly and accurately communicate
training information, performance feedback and program data to Goodwill staff and referral
sources. Knowledge of Department of Labor regulation regarding sub-minimum wage payment
and familiarity with the American's with Disabilities act. Knowledge of budgetary analysis
preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Staff recruitment and the development of employee retention measures in conjunction with the Manager.
- Establishes individual wage rates in compliance with the Fair Labor standards act and oversees participant payroll procedures for community based and in-house work as needed.
- Provides and monitors training and staff development in conjunction with the implementation of systems that check for understanding and transferability with knowledge.
- Oversees group employment agreements with outside agencies.
- Monitoring documentation quality and adherence to CARF, DD, and Medicaid standards for safety and service documentation.
- Oversees cost analysis and negotiated pricing with host employers with the assistance of the Manager and group employment team members.
- Communicates with production areas on a regular basis to help in achieving a well-coordinated work experience for all program participants.
- Assists Manager in the program evaluation processes of goal setting, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Coordinates substitute coverage with program supervisors.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
PERIODICAL DUTIES:
- Conducts meetings with appropriate staff as needed.
- Functions as back up to staff supervised.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
- Conducts tours as requested.
- Non-violent crisis intervention with participants as needed.
- Attends meetings and conferences outside of Goodwill as requested.
- Participation in marketing events.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to move around the facility to include all production areas.
- Travel to and access all community-based production sites.
- Must be able to complete paperwork and perform telephone communication.
- Must demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
- Must be able to accurately communicate with employers regarding job bids, time studies, safety issues and ongoing participant issues.
