About This Position
The Senior Accountant at Relevant Industrial, LLC is responsible for overseeing and managing general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, and account reconciliations. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, supporting the month-end close process, and providing financial analysis and support to the finance team. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:· Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
· General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
· Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including the preparation of necessary journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
· Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy of financial records. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
· Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of audit requests.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls, enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
· Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support management decisions, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and profitability analysis.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and senior management, to provide financial support and ensure alignment with business objectives.
· Tax: Work with Tax Manager on sales tax reporting and other business tax related matters.
Qualifications:· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior accounting role, preferably within the industrial or distribution sectors.
· Skills: Strong technical accounting skills, including expertise in GAAP or IFRS, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with Prophet 21 a plus.
· Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, other departments, and external auditors.
Physical Requirements:· Office Environment: Primarily office-based, with regular use of computers and other standard office equipment.
· Mobility: Ability to sit for extended periods and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
