Master Social Worker at University Health System- San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional level skills required in the clinical practice of mental health counseling and crisis intervention, affording direct services to children in the juvenile detention center. Screens and identifies juvenile inmates who are mentally ill, chemically dependent and or suicidal and makes the appropriate referral for further assessment, treatment and stability. Works with the multidisciplinary team in evaluation and treatment planning for incarcerated youth. Participates in the operation of the facility Suicide Prevention Program and monitoring of high-risk youth. Actively supports the policies and procedures of the University Health.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. Two years of current experience in mental health and demonstrated level of ability to engage in self-regulated practice are required. Two years experience in a health care setting is preferred.

LICENSURE
Current state licensure from the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners is required.
