Yard/Shop Laborer at Sunshine Disposal Inc – Airway Heights, Washington

Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a full-time employee as a Yard/Shop Laborer at our Airway Heights, WA location. This is a full time, day-shift position. Current available shift is Monday- Friday (5 days); 6:00am – 2:30pm (8 hour shift). Current wage rate is $22.00 per hour, as well as annual COLA, beginning in 2027. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.

1. Picks up litter and debris, performs other yard cleaning tasks as needed.

2. Performs cart maintenance and/or cleaning tasks on an as needed basis. Fastens lids to carts and removes lids from carts as requested

3. Performs Container cleaning as requested (metal containers)

4. Performs labor tasks in Maintenance shop when requested-including cleaning and organizing.

5. Operates forklift as necessary and when requested by Management.

6. Assists with container deliveries when business needs warrant.

7. Attend all necessary meetings as scheduled including safety and skill training meetings.

8. Performs special projects for the Operation Manager and other management team members.

9. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

· Forklift Operator’s Certificate required. Must complete training when scheduled by the company.

Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

· Regularly ( 6-8 hours per day) sit, stand, walk, pull/push, stoop

· Frequently (4-6 hours per day) climb, lift(up to 50 pounds), crouch, crawl carry, grasp, and reach.

· Seldom (maximum of 1 hour per day) Lift (up to 60 pounds)

· Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors.
