Intake Specialist at Ashtabula County Medical Center – Rock Creek, Ohio

Provides information to callers and prospective patients regarding Glenbeigh services, collects data for staff to determine the appropriateness and eligibility of patient requesting admission. Responsible for pre-admission case management of patients scheduled to be admitted, including benefits verification. Completes admission paperwork for all patients.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and effective in working with a team.
• Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication required.
• Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relationships in all encounters.
• Basic office equipment skills including but not limited to: photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, telephone system, shred boxes, calculators, computers, printers and keyboards.
• Basic computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft office, Outlook and the aptitude to navigate electronic medical records effectively.
• Possess personal qualifications such as kindness, compassion, good judgment and an ability to relate effectively.
• Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
• Possess strong customer service skills and phone etiquette.
