Government Grants Associate (Full-time)
Position Summary
The Government Grants Associate is a junior-level role that supports the administration and management of GrowNYC’s government funding portfolio, including city, state, and federal grants. This position is responsible for assisting with financial and narrative reporting, tracking deadlines and deliverables, and supporting reimbursement and budget documentation processes from contract execution through closeout. Working closely with the Senior Government Grants Administrator, as well as Finance, Advancement, and Program teams, the Associate provides critical coordination to help ensure compliance with funder requirements and the timely flow of public funding. The role also supports proposal development through the preparation of application materials, research, and light drafting.
Requirements:Government Grants Associate Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Support reimbursement processes by compiling and reconciling documentation (e.g., invoices, timesheets, general ledger reports, and budget reconciliations)
- Track and manage reporting deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements for city, state, and federal grants
- Prepare and submit financial and narrative reports in coordination with Finance and Program teams
- Maintain organized, audit-ready grant and contract files and assist with contract execution and renewals
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, with 1–3 years of experience supporting grants, contracts, or financial reporting in a nonprofit, government, or similar setting
- Experience with government funding processes, including reimbursement documentation, reporting, or systems such as PASSPort or Grants Gateway
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines across teams
Physical Requirements
Ability to be seated for long periods of time and travel within the five boroughs as needed.
Schedule
The hybrid position will be expected to work primarily Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with on-site work at GrowNYC’s office in downtown Manhattan (three days). In-office presence is required every Wednesday. Occasional evening or weekend work may also be needed.
Compensation
The position is an non-exempt, full-time salaried position. It pays $50,000 - $60,000 and includes full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, incentive savings plan, paid time off, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and potential for parental leave for full-time regular employees who have been employed with GrowNYC for 175 days and FSA programs). The position is non-union-eligible/not part of the bargaining unit.
Location
GrowNYC’s main office is located at 100 Gold Street New York, NY. Visits to local GrowNYC sites, including the Hub located at 298 Halleck St, Bronx, NY may occasionally be needed.
