Position Overview

This is a Direct Hire Opportunity.

As a Crane Operator, you will operate a mobile hydraulic crane mounted on a specially constructed chassis to lift, move, and position materials and construction components on active jobsites. This role is considered safety-sensitive and requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, crane operation standards, and jobsite safety procedures.

The Crane Operator works closely with installation crews and project leadership to ensure materials are moved safely and efficiently while maintaining strong communication and situational awareness on active construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a mobile hydraulic crane to lift, move, and place materials such as wall panels and construction components.

Drive the crane truck to and from jobsites while complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Safely set up crane operations, including placing cribbing under outriggers to stabilize the crane during lifts.

Review jobsites for potential safety concerns and communicate findings with the Install Foreman and crew.

Exercise authority to stop work if unsafe conditions are present.

Follow hand signals and instructions from installation crew members during lifting operations.

Assist with site preparation, including shoveling dirt or stone when required to support crane setup.

Break down crane setup and pack up cribbing and equipment at the end of each job.

Perform daily inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance on crane equipment.

Maintain clear communication with team members and customers while on site.

QualificationsRequired

NCCCO (CCO) Crane Operator Certification.

Valid CDL Class A license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Experience operating mobile hydraulic cranes or heavy equipment.

Strong understanding of construction site safety and crane hand signals.

Ability to arrive on time consistently and maintain dependable attendance.

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 pounds frequently.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and twist throughout the workday.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate noise from heavy equipment and power tools.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.

Preferred

Experience in residential or commercial construction, with preference for concrete construction experience.

1+ year experience operating cranes.

2+ years driving commercial or heavy vehicles.

CDL Class A license with clean MVR.

High school diploma or equivalent (relevant work experience may substitute).
