Position Description:

The Service Manager at Irvine Mechanical is responsible for overseeing the service department, ensuring that all HVAC service operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing a team of service technicians, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and ensuring that all service jobs are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Duties, Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the HVAC service department.
  2. Lead, mentor, and support a team of service technicians to ensure high performance and effective service delivery.
  3. Ensure that all service calls are completed on time, within budget, and to the customer’s satisfaction.
  4. Monitor and manage the department’s budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  6. Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  7. Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  8. Manage scheduling and dispatching of service technicians to ensure optimal coverage and quick response times.
  9. Monitor and report on service department performance, including KPIs and customer satisfaction metrics.
  10. Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and project management, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  11. Oversee the training and development of service technicians, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
  12. Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new service technicians as needed.


Position Requirements:
Qualifications, Education & Training
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HVAC service management or a related field.
  3. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  4. In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, service processes, and industry standards.
  5. Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills & Abilities
  1. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  2. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  3. Ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
