Software development Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer in the United States.

This role sits within a high-impact engineering organization focused on building and evolving a modern, customer-facing payments platform. It involves designing and delivering scalable software solutions that power APIs, user interfaces, integrations, and data services for corporate payment systems. The position plays a key role in shaping platform architecture and improving the speed, reliability, and quality of software delivery. You will work in a fast-paced, cloud-first environment where innovation, automation, and continuous improvement are core expectations. The role requires close collaboration with distributed engineering teams to build reusable components and reduce system complexity. It is ideal for a strong software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while influencing long-term architectural direction.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable services and applications for a cloud-based corporate payments platform.
  • Contribute to the architectural roadmap for customer-facing systems, aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Build and improve APIs, web interfaces, webhooks, and data streaming capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality automated tests, including unit, integration, and component testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to promote reuse of components and reduce duplication.
  • Enhance development practices and improve time-to-market through automation and efficient engineering approaches.
  • Ensure software solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Strong experience developing and deploying cloud-based services using AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, including test automation and the test pyramid.
  • Experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of security and compliance considerations in cloud and data environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience in financial systems such as payments, credit cards, or accounts receivable/payable platforms.
