Yellowstone Club’s Accounting department is currently seeking candidates for a Staff Accountant. This is a full-time year-round position located in Bozeman, Montana.

Purpose: The Staff Accountant supports the accounting team with daily financial operations and reporting. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in accounting. Responsibilities include assisting with financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with preparing and posting journal entries
  • Maintain and update the general ledger
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Help prepare financial statements and internal reports
  • Organize and maintain financial records and documentation
  • Assist with audits by gathering required data
  • Identify discrepancies and escalate issues as needed
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts

  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

Experience/Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or in progress)
  • 0–2 years of accounting or internship experience
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and grow in an accounting career

Experience/Education Preferred

  • Internship or part-time experience in accounting or finance
  • Progress toward CPA certification
  • Experience with ERP systems or financial tools

Certificates & Licenses

  • Valid State Driver’s License

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

  • Able to write clearly and professionally

Math Ability

  • Able to perform basic math calculations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve problems independently and identify when to escalate situations to higher-level staff

The employee is constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.
