Position Overview
The Human Resources Associate provides day-to-day HR and administrative support for a plant site. This role supports employee records, onboarding, compliance processes, and general HR operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is a 6-month assignment with the potential for permanent employment. The selected candidate will be employed and paid through a third-party staffing partner and must be available to work onsite daily at the plant location in Houston, TX.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintain personnel, medical, and confidential employee records
- Prepare general correspondence and internal communications
- Assemble new hire packets and process onboarding documentation for hourly employees
- Schedule return-to-work and annual physicals
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation activities
- Order and maintain departmental supplies
- Assist with exit interviews as needed
- Support TWIC renewals and manage boot and eyewear voucher processes
- Post job bids for open positions
- Maintain logs for corrective actions, grievances, and job bids
- Track employee service time for recognition programs
- Maintain phone lists, seniority lists, org charts, and holiday schedules
- Support departmental events and training logistics
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- TWIC card required
- 2+ years of HR Assistant or administrative experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Solid understanding of safe work practices
