JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
Performs a wide variety of accounting functions which includes preparing, maintaining and monitoring various financial/productivity reports for outside regulatory agencies and auditors. Responsible for general ledger maintenance, reconciliation of accounts, internal/external financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, budgeting and ad-hoc financial analysis.

(IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage and Commercial Large Group plans. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. College-level coursework in accounting or related field required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting preferred.

Two (2) years experience doing the full scope of accounting work for a business required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting may substitute for this experience.

Experience with computers required. Experience with MS applications preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Computer Literacy - Ability to use windows based computer systems. Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software, especially Office, Excel and Word. Ability to quickly enter data into spreadsheets, and manipulate data.

Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices. Ability to perform analysis and reporting of financial data.

Mathematics - Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, and their applications.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. Ability to utilize perform clerical functions such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
