Vehicle Mechanic at Intermountain Home Services LLC – Meridian, Idaho

The main responsibility of this employee is to provide repairs and basic maintenance of a variety of vehicles and equipment and assist our in-house lead mechanic. Key Responsibilities:

• Keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, replacing filters.
• Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
• Verifying vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complying with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Containing costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt of the orders.
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications and possibly attending classes.

• Clean driving record with the ability to drive a variety of vehicles including those with a standard transmission
• Possess the tools necessary to perform the tasks
• Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, crawl in confined spaces, climb ladders, perform repeated bending and lifting
• Be able to set priorities
• Be able to work independently
• Show a desire to learn a variety of mechanic skills, theories and operational functions on a variety of vehicles and equipment
