This is a senior global medical affairs leadership role focused on shaping early pipeline strategy across multiple rare disease programs within neurology and inborn errors of metabolism. You will play a central role in defining and executing medical strategy across early-stage assets, ensuring strong scientific positioning, evidence generation, and external engagement to support long-term development success. Operating in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, you will partner closely with clinical development, regulatory, HEOR, and commercial teams to align on integrated development and evidence strategies. The role requires a hands-on leader who can translate complex scientific insights into clear strategic direction while building strong external networks with key opinion leaders. You will also lead scientific communication strategies, publication planning, and advisory engagements to shape global understanding of pipeline assets. Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for leading global medical affairs strategy across pipeline programs, ensuring strong scientific leadership, evidence generation, and cross-functional alignment throughout early development.

  • Lead medical affairs strategy for assigned pipeline assets across multiple rare disease indications
  • Serve as a core member of program and sub-teams, contributing to key development and strategic decisions
  • Develop and execute integrated evidence generation strategies, including real-world evidence and scientific data plans
  • Lead external engagement activities such as advisory boards, steering committees, and expert collaborations
  • Translate competitive and scientific landscape insights into strategic recommendations for asset positioning
  • Establish and lead global medical sub-teams and ensure alignment across regional and global functions
  • Oversee publication strategy, congress planning, and scientific communication initiatives
  • Partner with medical communications to develop and maintain consistent scientific narratives and education strategies
  • Provide expert medical input into clinical development, regulatory, HEOR, commercial, and market access activities
  • Support field medical teams with scientific guidance, training, and tools to ensure consistent external communication
Requirements:

This role requires advanced scientific or medical training combined with deep experience in global medical affairs and pipeline strategy within biotech or pharmaceutical environments. The ideal candidate is both scientifically rigorous and strategically minded, with strong leadership capabilities in matrix organizations.

  • Advanced degree required (MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD)
  • 7+ years of experience in medical affairs, with strong preference for global pipeline experience
  • Proven track record in early development strategy, evidence generation, and external scientific engagement
  • Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas and early-stage development programs
  • Strong understanding of rare diseases, clinical development, and scientific research methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to translate complex science into strategic narratives
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills in highly matrixed environments
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence external scientific experts and internal stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong scientific rigor
  • Ability to operate with urgency, adaptability, and strategic foresight in fast-moving programs
