Position Summary:
Underindirect supervision, the GME ProgramManager - Rural Residency Programs oversees the operational planning, establishment,execution, and evaluation of rural graduate medical education initiativesadministered through the Office ofGraduate Medical Education at the University of New Mexico. This positionmanages a multifaceted program consisting of rural residency rotations andassociated initiatives funded through state appropriations, federal grants, andother external funding sources.
The ProgramManager is responsible for operational, administrative, and programmaticmanagement of rural GME initiatives and serves as the primary liaison betweenUNM GME leadership, University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH), residencyprograms, rural training sites, and external partners. The position ensurescompliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements including those fromthe Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Centers forMedicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Health Resources and ServicesAdministration (HRSA), while supporting the development and sustainability ofrural physician training programs aligned with UNM's mission to improve healthcare access across New Mexico.
The ProgramManager provides operational leadership, in partnership with GME Fiscal andUNMH Financial Office, assists in managing budgets and funding streams,oversees program staff and operational processes, and develops systems to trackrural rotations, funding utilization, and program outcomes.
*This position may require occasionaltravel throughout the state of New Mexico to support program needs.

- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience working with CMS GME funding or HRSA grant programs.
- Knowledge of accreditation requirements from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Experience coordinating credentialing, licensing, or onboarding processes within a healthcare or academic medical center environment.
- Familiarity with UNM policies, systems, and graduate medical education operations.
