About This Position

Summary:
The incumbent is a pivotal member of our operations which requires a high-level of integrity. Responsible for the efficient operation of the Security Department during assigned shifts and provides a safe work environment for guests and team members. Incumbent is expected to protect company assets and is responsible for the overall safety of the casino by coordinating safety meetings and inspections, appling all applicable safety precautions. The incumbent in this position is responsible to promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
Essential Functions:
• Will assist with personnel functions, such as: interviewing, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegations, evaluations and disciplinary actions, and payroll activities; will perform these functions in a timely manner.
• Compiles and enters information into the computer systems and HRIS database.
• Responsible for securing and protecting company assets, team members, and guests.
• Responds to emergencies or arranged assignments with appropriate diligence for the situation.
• Investigates and seeks resolutions to guest complaints and other guest service issues.
• Observes and reports incidents, procedure violations, safety hazard violations and criminal activities as they occur or when notified.
• Handles, verifies, and escorts large amounts of currency and monitors drop process.
• Coordinates with appropriate law enforcement and regulatory agencies concerning all criminal activity taking place on Colville Casinos property, including investigations of criminal and civil violation incidents.
• Transports company property and assets – e.g. machine/sports wagering kiosk drops, assets between sites, etc.
• Prepares daily, monthly and annual paperwork and any reports according to department and company needs as assigned.
• Informs the department of casino promotional programs and promotes guest service and friendly attitudes.
• Ensures compliance with all departmental, company, gaming, state and federal laws, policies, procedures and any other applicable rules and regulations; enforces all required safety codes.
• Adheres to all established safety standards, and performs duties in compliance with applicable company safety policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Responsible for the safety program which includes the responsibility of identifying, reporting, and following up on unsafe behavior, scenarios, or practices at their assigned site(s).
• Responsible for the timely and adequate training and orientation of team members regarding safety topics.
• Responsible for ensuring all team member’s safety records of compliance are current and that safety measures are in place to promote a safe working environment.
• Makes recommendations to policies and procedures to support and encourage safety.
• Administers or assists with drug testing team members.
• Implement preventative measures to ensure unsafe processes or practices are not repeated.
• Ensure all personnel follow all personal safety precautions.
• Must insure the following are up to date CPR/First Aid, Alcohol Permits and Food Handlers Permits, and other safety related training.
• Must be able to complete the CPR/First Aid Trainer course.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Operates and maintains office equipment, including but not limited to: computer, programmable telephone system, programmable fax and multi-use photocopier.
• Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably in a casino environment.
• Minimum two (2) years of security, law enforcement, or corrections experience.
• Must have adequate knowledge of workplace safety, compliance programs, and applicable safety regulations to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
• Must possess a current and valid CPR/First Aid Certification, Blood Borne Pathogens Training, and MSDS Training.
• Must be able to complete the CPR/First Aid Trainer course.
• Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
• Must have skill in writing reports.
• Must have excellent observation skills.
• Ability to conduct drug and alcohol tests.
• Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in windows-based programs and knowledge to operate general office equipment, software and databases.
• Working knowledge of security systems and safety procedures.
• Must be professional at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to be fair, consistent, honest, and unbiased.
• Must be able to follow directives and assigned schedule.
• Knowledge and experience with appropriate basic self-defense skills and Use of Force for security.
• Ability to apply applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Must successfully complete required training which includes formal casino training, PSTN Security Supervisor, and Basic Security Officer training.
• Must possess a current and valid Tribal Gaming License.
• Must possess a current and valid Washington State Driver’s License.
• Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training upon hire and annually.
• Will be required to obtain and maintain a Class 12 or 13 Mixology (MAST) permit, whichever is applicable.
• Cover shifts as needed and ability to work variable hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
• Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
• Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
• Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
• Ability to frequently sit, walk and/or stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform continuous physical exertion as needed.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat and/or reach.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to perform CPR.
• Ability to run up several flights of stairs or sprint a few hundred yards in emergencies.
