This leadership role oversees a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) focused on neurology, providing strategic guidance, coaching, and operational oversight. The Director partners with cross-functional teams to drive field medical initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support scientific exchange with key opinion leaders. Responsibilities include team recruitment, training, and development, as well as managing territory plans, field activity metrics, and special projects. The role also contributes to clinical research, educational materials, and congress planning while fostering collaboration between Medical Affairs and internal stakeholders. With opportunities for high-impact engagement and hands-on leadership, this position requires strategic thinking, strong scientific expertise, and excellent communication skills.
- Lead and manage a regional Field Medical team, including hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and development.
- Conduct field visits and 1:1 meetings to provide observation, guidance, and mentoring to MSLs.
- Ensure compliant execution of field activities and strategic territory plans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align Field Medical objectives with broader Medical Affairs goals.
- Support development of scientific materials, evidence communication tools, and regulatory approvals.
- Identify research gaps and foster collaboration with key opinion leaders and investigators.
- Oversee participation in clinical trials, scientific congresses, and dissemination of medical insights.
Requirements:
- Advanced medical or scientific degree (MD/DO, PhD, PharmD, DVM) required.
- 10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, including prior experience as an MSL.
- Leadership experience managing MSL teams, with strategic planning and coaching capabilities.
- 5+ years of neurology-focused pharmaceutical experience; experience in myasthenia gravis (MG) is a plus.
- Prior involvement in developing MSL assets, scientific presentations, or product launches preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Veeva.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to navigate cross-functional collaborations.
