About ACORN PLMS PTY LTD

At Acorn PLMS, we are on a mission to transform the corporate learning experience. Our cutting-edge Performance Learning Management System (PLMS) software is powered by AI and designed to ensure that what people learn directly contributes to their exceptional performance in business. Corporate performance and learning needs a revolution, and Acorn PLMS is the antidote. We are the only solution that guides learners step by step to master the specific capabilities required for their roles, ultimately accelerating organisational performance.

We are open to individuals based in Vancouver, Canada – this is an in-office role.

About the role

The Infrastructure & Customer Implementation Engineer is responsible for strengthening, automating, and scaling the infrastructure that powers Acorn’s learning and performance platform. Sitting within the Engineering team, this role also has a dotted-line relationship to the North American Customer Success and Delivery teams to directly support customer implementations across SSO, SFTP, and data feed integrations.

You will work extensively across our AWS ecosystem, particularly Cognito, S3, ECS, and Lambda to uplift and automate core workflows such as authentication setup, HRIS and SFTP data feed integrations, and new site provisioning. This role blends light customer-facing technical guidance with deep platform engineering. You will act as the engineering owner for the systems, tooling, and processes that enable seamless onboarding for strategic accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

Own and uplift Acorn’s AWS-based integration infrastructure, focusing on automation, reliability, and scalability Improve, maintain, and extend integration tooling used by internal teams (SSO setup utilities, feed processing pipelines, provisioning scripts, etc.) Implement enhancements to authentication and provisioning workflows, with a strong emphasis on repeatability and automation Lead the uplift of our HR feed integration codebase - improving performance, error handling, observability, maintainability, and documentation Build and maintain secure, automated pathways for creating new Acorn PLMS sites and environments

Customer Implementation Support

Partner with Customer Delivery and Success teams - including Strategic Account Managers and Implementation Specialists - to troubleshoot and support customer-specific technical integrations. Provide expert guidance during customer onboarding for SSO, SFTP, API usage, and data feed configuration, especially for strategic accounts 12Help internal teams diagnose integration issues by improving logging, monitoring, and diagnostic tooling Contribute to internal documentation and playbooks for integration workflows and implementation patterns

Automation & Tooling

Identify opportunities to eliminate manual steps and build automation that accelerates customer onboarding Create internal CLI tools, scripts, and microservices that streamline integration processes end-to-end Enhance observability across integration flows (dashboards, alerts, health checks, telemetry) Improve and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates for Cognito, networking, provisioning, and tenant creation

Security & Reliability

Ensure AWS Cognito, authentication surfaces, and integration pathways remain secure, stable, and aligned with best practices Contribute to resilience improvements across integration pipelines—including data ingestion, authentication, and provisioning Participate in incident analysis and strengthen infrastructure to prevent recurrence

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as Cognito, Lambda, IAM, SQS, DynamoDB, ECS/Fargate, and API Gateway. Experience designing and operating infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation). Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript (or similar languages) for automation, tooling, and backend services. Comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development. Solid understanding of authentication and identity standards (SAML, OIDC, SCIM, OAuth 2.0). Experience working with SFTP, file-based integrations, ETL pipelines, or HRIS data ingestion. Experience deploying or integrating AI/LLM components (e.g. vector stores, RAG-style retrieval, or model-backed services) into production systems; familiarity with MCP is a plus. Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architectures is a strong plus.
