We are looking to add an experienced and highly skilled Roaming Building Engineer/Maintenance Technician to our commercial team in southeastern Wisconsin!
You will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of building systems across multiple sites. We are looking for someone with demonstrated technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine property inspections and walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Organize, coordinate, and manage comprehensive maintenance programs, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot building systems, including:
- HVAC systems (heat pumps, cooling towers, boilers)
- Building automation systems
- Air handlers
- Electrical and plumbing systems
- Life safety, fire protection, and security systems
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and resolve issues efficiently.
- Obtain bids, negotiate vendor contracts, and assist with budget preparation.
- Maintain cost-effective inventory control and accurate reporting.
- Communicate effectively with property managers, ownership groups, and board members regarding maintenance projects and updates.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule:
- Full-time position with an on-call requirement
- Travel within Southeastern Wisconsin required; company vehicle or mileage reimbursement provided.
- Proven experience in commercial property maintenance or building engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with the Commercial Property Manager.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving capabilities.
- Valid driver license
