About This Position
PHLEBOTOMIST

Position Summary
-
- Performs a variety of specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices.
- Instructs patients on proper preparation/collection for tests ordered and distributes collection containers when necessary
- Processes specimens for testing including identifying; sorting; aliquoting; centrifuging and labeling specimens appropriately
- Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy.
- Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems

- Education, Credential, Training, and Experience

Minimum Requirements
-

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is required
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist minimum 1 year
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable

- Preferred:
- Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire.
