In 2016, members of 16 On Center launched Project Projects Chicago NFP, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on enriching arts and culture in the neighborhoods where we work and play. The nonprofit partners with existing 16 On Center businesses to support third-party charities, like-minded causes, and music- and arts-based programs that strengthen local communities.

Position Summary
As the Nonprofit Manager & Fundraiser at Project Projects, you will be responsible for the overall management and administration of an established culture-focused nonprofit and its related initiatives. This full-time, exempt role oversees nonprofit operations, compliance, and program support, with grant writing and funding development serving as a core component of the position.
You will manage the day-to-day administrative and operational needs of the nonprofit and work closely with the Board of Directors, and external partners to support existing programs and thoughtfully expand the nonprofit’s impact over time. Grant development responsibilities include identifying funding opportunities, preparing submissions, and managing required reporting.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the day-to-day management and administrative operations of the nonprofit, including recordkeeping, documentation, and internal tracking systems
- Support nonprofit compliance, filings, and reporting
- Maintain organized systems for nonprofit records, program documentation, and internal workflows
- Support budget tracking and expense monitoring related to nonprofit initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership, board members, and external partners to support nonprofit operations and initiatives
- Research, identify, and pursue grant and funding opportunities aligned with the nonprofit’s mission, programs, and community partnerships
- Write, submit, and manage grant applications, including narratives, budgets, and supporting materials
- Track grant deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance
- Maintain relationships with funders, grant partners, and community organizations as appropriate
- Help refine and improve nonprofit processes, workflows, and internal documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the nonprofit’s mission and sustainability
About You:
- 3+ years managing nonprofit operations and initiatives, with experience in grant writing and funding support
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities
- Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership and the Board of Directors
- Comfortable operating in a nonprofit environment that is active but evolving
- Interest in music, arts, or community-based work strongly preferred
