Position Summary:
The Spotter will effectively and safely operate a tractor-trailer and/or straight truck to the designated area in the facility. As well as working in the warehouse and operating a stand-up forklift.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate Tractor-Trailer and/or straight truck in a safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles.
- Other duties and special projects as requested inside or outside the facility.
- Always maintain safe work practices.
- Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
- Responsible for spotting trailers in the yard.
- Loading and unloading trailers and performing yard checks.
- Spotter will also be required to help indoors and know how to operate a stand-up forklift, as the expectation is that the spotter will be working with warehouse/shipping/receiving.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
2 years prior experience of OTR driving experience or training school equivalent.
Certified Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
Must be able to operate or willing to learn a stand-up forklift.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter; be able to work independently and/or under direct supervision.
Must be detail oriented towards work instructions and documentation.
Have ability to listen to and follow directions.
Must be able to follow established procedures.
Must have a good attendance record.
Must be able to communicate in English both written and verbally.
Working Conditions:
Need to be able to adapt to changing conditions inside or outside the facility.
Must have the ability to work in all types of outside weather conditions.
Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day.
Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
Must have good hand/eye coordination.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
Must pass the Carl Buddig and Company Forklift Training and Evaluation Program on an annual basis.
Pay range for this position is $30.00 to $32.00 an hour depending on experience.
