Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving incoming shipments in the Central Receiving Point (CRP) of the Directorate of Logistics Supply Support Activity. (DOL SSA).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
• Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
• Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
• Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
• May be required to operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Responsible for physically unloading delivery trucks utilizing Material Handling Equipment (pallet jacks and forklifts up to 10,000 lbs).
• perform Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) before, during, and after use of forklifts.
• Verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
• Checking for damaged goods
• Insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment.
• Preparing and keeping records of goods received including online tracking and verification.
• Ensure items receipted into the CRP are rapidly and accurately receipted to the proper units.
• Assist customer units with tracking of items, verification of deliveries, and loading of cargo.
• Warehouse maintenance includes but is not limited to sweeping the floors, emptying trash and maintaining working area in a clean and orderly state.
• Adherence to all TLC Policies accessed through Deltek Costpoint via the following path.
o People > Employee Self Service > Company > Company Links > TLC Policies.

• This position supports the DOD on a federal installation and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.
o Hours of work 7:30AM -4:30PM (M-F)
Requirements:
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• No supervisory responsibilities required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential :
• At least one (1) year experience in retail supply; receiving, storage and warehouse functions.
• Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment up to 10,000 lb. forklift.
• Must be able to read and write and be physically capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs. and be able to wear appropriate protective equipment (hard hat, goggles, pants, gloves) as required.
• Must be customer friendly, answer telephones, provide advice, guidance, and information as appropriate.
• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Excellent personal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines.
• Must have valid state driver's license and be able to maintain post driving privileges.
• Must be able obtain/maintain Common Access Card
Preferred :
• Prior military or government work preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop down and lift and carry more than 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone ; and the manual dexterity to operate computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site.
Work performed indoors and outdoors. May involve exposure to inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. No travel requirements. Will work 40 hours work week with a possibility to work weekends and/or holidays if mission/operations require. This position supports the DOD on a federal installation and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.
EXPECTATIONS:
• Transportation & Access: You must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to access military installations.
• Background & Drug Screening: Employment requires passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and alcohol testing may also occur without prior notice.
• Timesheets: Record your actual work hours daily and ensure your entries are accurate and timely to support smooth operations.
• Dress & Punctuality: Arrive on time and dress appropriately for your shift.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS:
All employees are required to undergo an initial background investigation as a condition of employment. Additionally, employees may be subject to subsequent background investigations if circumstances warrant, such as the emergence of a need, an issue, or probable cause.
Employees assigned to work on federal installations or projects must also comply with government-mandated background investigations, which are conducted independently of the company's investigations. Employment and continued assignment to federal installations are contingent upon successfully meeting and maintaining these requirements.
