Job Description

Infrastructure Tech Lead Infra Core

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Tech Lead — Infra Core in Italy.

In this role, you will operate as a senior technical leader at the heart of a high-impact infrastructure team, shaping the systems that power a globally distributed platform. You will combine deep hands-on engineering with strategic direction, influencing how services are built, deployed, and scaled across hundreds of applications. Working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, you’ll tackle complex challenges in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience. This is a role for builders who thrive on ownership, autonomy, and solving large-scale technical problems. You’ll collaborate across teams while setting architectural standards that impact engineering at scale. The position offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and create infrastructure that directly enables global operations.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for core infrastructure systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and developer experience
  • Design and implement infrastructure patterns and tools that support large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Lead the development of platform primitives, control planes, and automation frameworks used across engineering teams
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex production incidents, driving root cause analysis and long-term solutions
  • Build and optimize service provisioning processes, enabling rapid and secure deployment across environments
  • Architect and improve traffic routing, API gateways, and edge infrastructure to support high-volume systems
  • Enhance infrastructure security practices, including secrets management and secure configuration standards
  • Drive observability improvements, including logging, monitoring, and tracing systems at scale
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, security, database, and engineering) to align on architecture and priorities
  • Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards while remaining deeply involved in hands-on development
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years focused on infrastructure and cloud environments
  • Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, and modern infrastructure tooling (Helm, GitOps, CNCF ecosystem)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience building production-grade systems
  • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems and event-driven architectures
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, including extending and customizing cluster capabilities (operators, controllers, APIs)
  • Experience working with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, NATS) and scalable data systems
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and their role in modern infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects from concept to delivery
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Self-driven mindset with a bias for action, ownership, and problem-solving in ambiguous environments
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package, including equity or stock grant opportunities (depending on location and status)
  • Fully remote work setup with flexible scheduling and optional co-working access
  • Comprehensive and adaptable benefits package tailored to your region
  • Opportunities to work on high-impact, large-scale technical challenges
  • Professional growth in a fast-scaling, global environment
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture that values innovation and collaboration
  • Access to learning resources and continuous development opportunities
  • Additional perks and allowances depending on employment type and location
