We are searching for an experienced Ultrasound Technician for a full time, 1 year contract opportunity beginning in June 2026 with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach, California. This is a W-2 contract position supporting the VA Medical Center and offers a stable weekly schedule, competitive benefits, and the opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans in a highly respected federal healthcare system.

Contract Details

• Contract Dates: 6/30/2026 - 6/29/2027
• Location: Long Beach, CA - VA Medical Center
• Day Shift: 8am - 4:30pm
• Evening Shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am
• Contract: 1 Year Minimum with Extension Opportunities

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams independently in accordance with established protocols
• Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring safety and comfort during procedures
• Operate ultrasound equipment and select appropriate technical settings to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Set up and maintain exam rooms, ensuring all required supplies and equipment are available
• Document and transmit imaging studies through PACS, including post-processing and image archiving
• Maintain accurate patient records using VA systems (VistA Radiology and CPRS)
• Follow all VA policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards
• Utilize independent judgment and collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care

• Valid ARDMS (AB) Certification Encouraged but not required
• Minimum 2 years current work experience in Medical Sonography
• Current BLS Certification
• PACS Work Experience Required; AGFA PACS experience preferred but not necessary (training provided as needed)
