Architectural Products of Virginia, “APV”, is an industry leader in commercial door, door hardware, and security product distribution, serving the construction industry in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. The Construction Project Assistant is responsible for providing accurate, detailed, and timely estimates for door and hardware products and services. This role involves reviewing blueprints and project specifications, calculating material and labor costs, and preparing bids for both new construction and renovation projects. This position requires strong knowledge of door hardware, construction materials, and the ability to work with internal teams to ensure the success of each project.

Job Title: Construction Project Assistant

Location: Ashland, VA

Pay Range: $65,000 to $85,000 Salary exempt

About the Role:

• Prepare Accurate Estimates: Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop detailed cost estimates for doors, frames, hardware, materials, labor, and installation.
• Manage Bid Process: Prepare and submit competitive bid packages, ensuring pricing accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Vendors and Clients: Work with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and clients to gather quotes, clarify project requirements, and ensure product availability.
• Support Project Execution: Maintain estimate documentation and provide ongoing support to project managers and field teams to ensure products, pricing, and project requirements align.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate –OR- A bachelor's degree in construction management experience in the door and hardware industry may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction.
• 5+ years of experience in the door and hardware industry.
• Any appropriate and effective combination of any of the above.
• Comfortable with use of technology, with good computer and mobile skills and the ability to embrace and adapt to changes to technology that is critical to how we work.
