You will serve as the first dedicated procurement leader for a rapidly growing $16M+ mechanical contractor, taking full ownership of a function currently distributed across several departments. This is a "builder" role where you will centralize the purchasing process, optimize vendor pricing, and streamline the flow of critical equipment across the NYC skyline. You have the autonomy to build this department from the ground up and directly impact the company's path to a $20M+ valuation.

• Manage all material and equipment procurement for 15-20 simultaneous commercial HVAC projects.

• Negotiate aggressive pricing, payment terms, and lead times with major NYC suppliers and manufacturers.

• Prepare and track technical equipment submittals, ensuring 100% compliance with mechanical specifications.

• Coordinate high-stakes logistics, including rigging, crane services, and specialized deliveries across the metro area.

• Execute a rigorous Purchase Order system to ensure total accuracy between quotes, budgets, and invoices.

• Optimize rental equipment cycles for lifts and hoists to eliminate unnecessary extended-period charges.

• Develop a preferred vendor scorecard system to hold suppliers accountable for quality and delivery timelines.

• Minimum of 5 years of procurement or materials management experience specifically in commercial HVAC.

• Deep knowledge of the NYC supplier landscape including MW Equipment, Climatech, and ABCO.

• Established relationships with major manufacturer reps for brands like Daikin, Carrier, Mitsubishi, and Trane.

• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and preparing detailed equipment submittal packages.

• Advanced expertise in Procore, QuickBooks, and Excel for tracking multi-million dollar spends.

• Local NYC presence with the ability to visit jobsites and vendor locations daily.

• Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish or English/Russian.

• Experience managing procurement for projects moving from the $15M to $20M+ revenue bracket.

• Specialized knowledge of NYC rigging permit requirements and logistics planning.
