The Care Team Assistant supports healthcare providers, nurses, and medical assistants in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This entry-level role focuses on basic clinical functions and patient support, contributing to efficient care team operations and an excellent patient experience.

Core Responsibilities
1. Support providers, nurses, and medical assistants with daily patient care activities
2. Prepare and clean exam rooms; ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
3. Escort patients to and from exam rooms and assist with patient flow
4. Obtain and document basic vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure) as directed
5. Assist with patient intake, including updating demographic and medical information in the electronic health record (EHR)
6. Perform basic medical procedures (such as administering EKGs), with appropriate training
7. Assist with basic lab procedures, specimen handling, or point-of-care testing under supervision
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and common areas
9. Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols (including HIPAA compliance)
10. Support care team coordination by preparing materials for patient visits and follow-ups
Requirements:Minimum Objective Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Interest in healthcare or prior experience in a medical or community health setting
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is a plus
- Experience using Microsoft Office software and electronic medical record software
- Availability to work evenings until 9 p.m. and occasionally Saturday morning
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel independently between sites
Preferred Objective Qualifications
- Some advanced training/college courses in Allied Health, Science, Medical Assisting, or other healthcare-related field.
