About This Position

Summary
Campus Director - CD3

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up system for reporting and records, specifically children’s application and enrollment, health, in-kind donations, progress reports, time and attendance, home visitation and others as required
Ensure that each teacher maintains anecdotal records on each child’s development in areas of language development, behavior, self-image, self-discipline, curiosity and in physical mental and emotional growth
Review written daily classroom lesson plans and confers with the classroom team to develop a comprehensive curriculum for each class with appropriate goals based on the needs of the individual child
Encourage and promote an active Head Start Parent Committee in order to achieve greater community involvement for the betterment of the program
Assist teachers in developing ways for providing parent instruction in continuing Head Start activities and principles in the home environment; plan and document three visits per year with parents privately regarding pupil progress
and ways in which parents might help the child in continuing Head Start at home
Attend Directors’ meetings, provide proper climate for resolving personnel issues
Maintain Center licensing status through compliance with State Minimum Standards for Day Care Centers; works directly with Licensing Representative, reporting problem areas to Head Start Director

Other Duties
Ensure that proper housekeeping standards are maintained
Responsible for all equipment assigned; maintains a property list and conducts periodic property inventory
Conduct Campus Staff meetings as indicated
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Submit Campus purchase requests, and staff travel vouchers within prescribed budget limitations
Interface with Agency fiscal department, provides accounting with the working budget information
Contributes to the team effort by completing other duties as indicated
Qualifications

Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related field required
TDFPS Child Care Director’s License required (or must be eligible for license)
Minimum of two years experience in the education field required
Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Initial Certification with annual recertification
Strong organizational skills required
Management/supervisory experience required
Computer literate
Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding childcare/education

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise Campus Staff and volunteers
Prepare periodic written evaluation of each teacher and aide to use as a basis for discussing strengths and
improvements
Responsible for developing a working plan for career development of staff, including job descriptions, performance
evaluation, training and job opportunities
