Survey Laborer at Grayson Carter and Son Contracting – Athens, Alabama

Position Title: Survey Laborer

Department: Field Operations

Supervisor: Survey Manager

Location: Athens, AL

Essential Job Functions:

• Cuts and clears brush and trees from the line of survey, using brush hook, knife, ax, or other cutting tools
• Places stakes at designated points and drives them into the ground at specified elevation, using a hammer or hatchet
• Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks
• Assists in the operation of conventional and satellite survey equipment for completion of survey projects Loads equipment for transport to worksite; unloads equipment from vehicle to the worksite
• Identifies and utilizes survey equipment properly
• Adheres to all company safety and security policies
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Ability to understand written material and basic math skills
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
