Significance is seeking a Senior Real Estate Program & Transaction Support Consultant provides mission-critical support to the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Headquarters Real Estate Production Support Division (RE PSD). This role supports the Department of the Navy (DON) in the planning, development, execution, and oversight of complex real estate (RE) and non-FAR transactional initiatives that enhance mission readiness, infrastructure resilience, and operational effectiveness.
The senior consultant delivers conceptual, analytical, technical, and transactional support across the full lifecycle of real estate acquisition, management, and disposition activities. This position requires the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, adjust to shifting priorities, and provide high-level advisory support to senior government leadership.
The Senior Consultant will work closely with federal and DoD clients to ensure projects meet regulatory, technical, and operational requirements, support innovative solutions, and advance infrastructure modernization goals. Responsibilities will also include analyzing existing energy and infrastructure programs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping clients adopt best practices in program delivery and risk management.
This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical and operational information into actionable recommendations for both working-level staff and senior leaders. The role is hybrid, with 12 days per week onsite at the Washington Navy Yard and flexibility for remote work. Occasional travel may also be required.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Energy, Business, Engineering, Sustainability & Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal real estate, infrastructure, or large-scale transactional programs, preferably within DoD or DON environments.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate acquisition, management, and disposition processes, including non-FAR authorities (e.g., IGSAs, OTAs).
  • Experience supporting and coordinating workstreams, including contributing to deliverables, tracking tasks, and collaborating with junior and senior team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing briefings, analyses, and reports for senior leaders or enterprise-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment, balancing multiple priorities and meeting aggressive deadlines with limited supervision.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting NAVFAC, DON, or DoD real estate or infrastructure programs.
  • Familiarity with audit readiness, internal controls, and federal financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting federal government clients, with a preference for DoW, Department of the Navy, Department of Energy, or state and local energy or infrastructure organizations.
  • Active secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply.
