What You’ll DoAs a Maintenance Lead, you’ll be a key player— helping to control, analyze, and adjust the operation of fixed heavy equipment for the purpose of purifying quartz sand to be used in the glass industry
- Operate and monitor plant equipment including fluidized bed dryers, conveyors, and bucket elevators
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on equipment
- Run quality control tests to ensure top-tier product standards
- Partner with the Plant Manager on daily operations and continuous improvements
- Help drive safety, productivity, and efficiency initiatives
- Communicate maintenance and production needs proactively
- Track and support key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Assist with repairs, housekeeping, and material quality control
- Support procurement of parts, tools, and equipment
- Step in wherever needed—this is a team-first environment
- Experience in aggregate, sand, or asphalt plant operations
- Familiarity with dryers, screens, conveyors, or similar heavy equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to perform basic computer tasks and recordkeeping
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Willingness to work night shift, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Ability to handle physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, etc.)
- Mix of indoor and outdoor work—expect real-world conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
- Hands-on role operating and maintaining heavy machinery
- Safety-first culture aligned with MSHA and company standards
