Heavy Equipment Operator at Central Plumbing – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to support plumbing and utility installation projects in the Baton Rouge area. This role will be responsible for safely operating excavation equipment to assist with new construction plumbing, sewer, and underground utility work.

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment for trenching, digging, grading, and backfilling
• Support plumbing installation crews with underground utility and sewer line work
• Assist with plumbing installation when needed, including pipe placement and site preparation
• Read and interpret basic site plans, blueprints, and utility layouts
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards
• Work in coordination with plumbing installers, foremen, and site supervisors
• Maintain clean, organized job sites

• Experience operating excavators and/or heavy equipment (mini and full-size preferred)
• Experience in plumbing installation or utility construction strongly preferred
• Ability to work in trenching and underground environments
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems and construction layouts
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow directions
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)

• Outdoor construction environments in all weather conditions
• Physical labor required, including lifting, digging, and working in confined spaces
• Fast-paced job sites with multiple active crews
