About the Role
SIRIS is seeking an AutoCAD Designer to support a VA Medical Center project in Fresno, California.
This role supports complex federal healthcare construction projects by developing, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and documentation. You will work closely with construction managers, engineers, and VA client stakeholders to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.
This is a highly technical role supporting mission-critical infrastructure within an active healthcare environment.
What You’ll Do- Create and modify detailed drawings using AutoCAD based on sketches, layouts, and engineering input
- Review and update existing as-built drawings for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure drawings conform to project standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with engineers and construction teams to maintain model accuracy and documentation integrity
- Identify and correct dimensioning, annotation, and design inconsistencies
- Maintain drawing file systems, version control, and documentation standards
- Support project teams with design updates, coordination drawings, and revisions
- Assist in interpreting construction documents and technical specifications
- Support project timelines by managing drawing updates and deliverables
- Experience supporting construction projects in healthcare, federal, or institutional environments is highly valued
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting standards
- Comfortable working with as-built drawings and complex technical documentation
- Able to work independently while collaborating with project teams and stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Effective communicator across technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrates accountability and sound judgment
- Required
- 4+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Experience developing and modifying technical drawings in construction or engineering environments
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, dimensioning, and documentation practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Preferred
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, drafting, or related field
- Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or similar certification
- Experience supporting federal or healthcare construction projects
- Experience with MEP drafting (mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems)
- Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and building codes
- Associate degree or technical training in drafting, design, or related field is preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Familiarity with construction practices, quality assurance, and documentation standards
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in technical and design-related decisions
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple drawing updates and deadlines
- Full-time onsite role at an active construction site and healthcare facility
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment

The pay range for this role is:
65,000 - 75,000 USD per year(Fresno, CA)
