JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Manager, Flooring, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day flooring operations within the Houston market, with a strong focus on execution, scheduling, and jobsite quality. This role is highly hands-on and plays a critical part in ensuring jobs are properly loaded out, crews are aligned, and installations are completed on time and to standard. The Operations Manager acts as the bridge between field crews, project flow, and leadership - ensuring operational consistency and accountability across all jobs. This is not a desk-based role. The right person will be comfortable in the field, solving problems in real time, and stepping in where needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Requirements:RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Oversee daily flooring operations, ensuring jobs are properly scheduled, staged, and executed
- Coordinate and manage job loadouts, materials, and crew readiness
- Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality
- Support crews in the field as needed to maintain timelines and standards
- Manage installation schedules and crew assignments
- Ensure efficient job flow from order to completion
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks that impact production or timelines
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure company standards are met
- Address rework, punch items, and installation issues proactively
- Drive accountability across crews and subcontractors
- Work closely with the District Manager and leadership team to align priorities
- Communicate daily with installers, vendors, and internal teams
- Help maintain strong team cohesion and operational consistency across the branch
- Identify inefficiencies in loadouts, scheduling, and execution
- Implement practical improvements to streamline operations and reduce delays
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in flooring operations, installation, or construction field management
- Strong understanding of flooring installation processes, materials, and workflows
- Experience coordinating crews, scheduling, and jobsite execution
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working both in the field and in an operational coordination capacity
- Experience with systems like FloorPro or similar is a plus
