Job Description

The function of Thread Inspector-Ennis is to inspect threaded products in accordance with the instructions of the work order, inspection report, drawing, and applicable specifications. They Thread Inspector-Ennis report to the Manager-Quality-Ennis/Director-Quality and exercise authority over no other employee.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Report to work on time and clock in/out at the beginning and end of the shift.
  2. Report to the Director of Operations to be assigned to a workstation and receive written work instructions.
  3. Adhere to company safety, environmental, quality and personnel policies.
  4. Check all precision measurement instruments for current calibration status and report any outdated or damaged equipment to the Lead Quality Control Specialist.
  5. Keep all documentation in a clean and legible condition.
  6. Perform and document a "First Article Inspection" before full production begins.
  7. Record information on Daily Inspection Record sheets and sign‑off on Work Orders and Router forms to verify those items which have passed inspection.
  8. Apply your employee identification number on the machined part which has passed the quality inspection.
  9. Remove from service any inspection equipment found to be defective or out of calibration.
  10. Verify that all measuring equipment utilized for product acceptance displays a current calibration sticker.
  11. Paint yellow (for recuts) or red (for scrap) and apply matching tape to any products that are non-conforming.
  12. Ensure that any inspection equipment not in use is stored in its proper location.
  13. Monitor the handling of tubing and accessories, to ensure compliance with applicable procedures.
  14. Report any questionable machined dimension, or problems with material, to the Director of Quality/ Lead Quality Control Specialist.
  15. Ensure that all 3rd party standards & gage kits for licensed threads are properly maintained and returned to the correct gage box when not in use.
  16. Sign-off on Work Order, Router form, and any other documentation as required by Benoit SOP.
  17. Ensure that the company's products conform to all applicable requirements.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Quality.

Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:

• Prior experience in Quality engineering environment preferred not required

• Proficiency in quality inspection tools and measurement equipment such as gauges and calipers

• Strong documentation and reporting skill

• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future

Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to:

• Effective verbal and written communication in English

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions in English

• Sufficient visual acuity to perform job duties safely and accurately

• Ability to work in office, warehouse, production, or outdoor environments as required

• Lift, move, adjust, push, pull, and carry objects to waist height up to 30 lbs without assistance, up to 50 lbs with assistance

• Lift, carry, move, push, pull, and adjust objects from waist to shoulder height up to 50 lbs with assistance

• Frequent standing, bending, and reaching constantly throughout shift

• Frequent use of stairs

• Fine motor skills for inspecting threads

• Frequent use of measuring devices

• Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and shop environment
