Medical Scribe at PRECISION HEALTHCARE SPECIALISTS LLC – Fort Myers, Florida

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Scribe to support our colorectal surgery providers. The Medical Scribe plays a critical role in enhancing provider efficiency and patient care by accurately documenting clinical encounters in real time. This position requires strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent listening skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced specialty environment.

• Accompany providers during patient visits and accurately document medical histories, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner
• Enter orders, labs, imaging, and referrals as directed by the provider
• Assist with chart preparation, including reviewing prior records, test results, and histories
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Support providers with workflow efficiency, allowing them to focus on patient care
• Update patient charts, including past medical history, medications, and allergies
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in gastroenterology or colorectal surgery, is a plus
• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Epic, Athenahealth) preferred
• Strong typing and computer skills (minimum 50–60 WPM recommended)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
