About This Position
This role will provide dedicated communications and project coordination support for the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan’s Communications and Marketing team. In addition to administrative workflows, this role will also support integrated media strategies to promote the Foundation with a strong focus on content creation for CFSEM’s website, social media channels and digital marketing platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project coordination support for events and initiatives, including timelines, task tracking, and cross-team follow-up.
- Support administrative workflows related to communications and events, including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, note-taking, and documentation.
- Help maintain editorial calendar, shared calendars, contact lists and cross-departmental logistics support.
- Help coordinate contracts, invoices, and vendor paperwork related to communications and event deliverables.
- Support the development and distribution of communications materials, newsletters, press releases, blogs and social media content.
- Support the development of website content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Support the development of a comprehensive social media strategy, helping to manage and grow CFSEM’s social media presence across multiple platforms.
- Help create, curate, and schedule engaging content for social media and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with CFSEM’s brand and messaging.
- Monitor social media trends and analytics to help inform strategy and optimize engagement.
- Help manage, track, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot),etc.
- Support the development of digital campaigns and storytelling initiatives that highlight CFSEM’s impact in the community.
- Assist with digital asset management, including organizing and archiving photos, videos, and other multimedia content.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism.
- 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, social media management, digital marketing, project coordination.
- Demonstrated experience creating content for web, email, and social media platforms.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with common digital tools (e.g., email marketing platforms, content management systems, social media scheduling tools, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to collaborate across teams.
- Commitment to equity and community impact.
- Experience working with funder-facing or impact-focused communications and/or working in nonprofit, foundation, or community-based organizations is preferred, but not required.

Benefits & Salary:
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan offers a robust total compensation package. The salary range for those entering this role is $50,000 - $59,000. In addition to a competitive base salary, benefits include but aren’t limited to 20 days of vacation accrued monthly, 5 personal days, 13 holidays, 9 sick days accrued monthly, paid parental leave, and employer paid short/long term disability. This position requires the ability to work in a hybrid environment, with an average of 3 in-office workdays per week, with Wednesday being a required in-office day.
The Community Foundation also offers a pension retirement program after 1 year of service which contributes 10% of salary.
