About This Position

SUMMARY

To increase the value and desirability of Ocean Reef Club's membership and real estate by providing incomparable excellence in all services and facilities in the Ocean Reef Club community. In addition, to represent the Solid Waste Department in a confident, professional manner, to complete tasks required for the efficient functioning of the stated department without direct supervision. Additionally, make minor repairs to Solid Waste vehicles, to collect and, process commercial/refuse items throughout the Club.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide commercial and residential members with the following services in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in member's satisfaction.

  • Restaurants Refuse Collection: This position is assigned as needed to ensure that all restaurants operations are maintained in a pristine condition. Employees are expected to collect waste from the Club restaurants and pick up any waste left on the floor.
  • Compactors: the role involves inspecting and operating compactors after pickups to ensure proper function across all locations. All issues must be reported immediately.
  • Business Refuse Collection: Employees are expected to collect all waste from the entire Club business operations and pick up any debris that has fallen to the ground, ensuring a clean and safe environment at all times.
  • Card Board Collection: the role involves ensuring that all restaurants and business boxes are picked up and maintained in a pristine and excellent condition in the area.
  • Transfer Waste to Transfer Station and cleaning: After completing the route, employees must ensure that the truck is properly dumped daily and thoroughly cleaned to prepare it for the following day, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain Dumpsite and Bulk Waste Collection: After completing the route, employees must assist the team in the Green Waste area to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, they are expected to help in hauling green waste and bulk items to the transfer station, supporting efficient operations.


EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
  • All equipment is to receive a pre-trip inspection before leaving the yard, and you must turn in all inspection forms to management.
  • Drivers are responsible for the safe operation and cleaning of their vehicles. Any problems should be reported to management.
  • All associates will need to wear the personnel protective safety equipment supplied by the ORC.

· When drivers are finished with their route, they may be asked to help out on other

routes, wash equipment and, provide special service pick-ups.

· Flexible schedule is required based on business demands.

· Routes may change depending on staffing and business demands.

· All commercial containers must be clean and deodorized.

· Restaurant dumpsters and Business must be picked up on schedule.

· All rear loaders must be hosed down in compactor area after dumping the truck


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licenses and Certificates: Must have a commercial driver license (CDL) class A or B, and must be able to present DOT medical examination card.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • Knowledge of general safety operating procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to move and work throughout the Ocean Reef Club for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, and must have the ability to perform these tasks consistently while bending, stooping, kneeling, standing and walking.
  • Ability to properly operate a forklift, and front-end loader.
  • Due to the nature of the business, the sanitation attendant may be required to perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the manager, such as assisting fellow team members.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends and Holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, or any other combination of education, training, or experience of at least two years that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
LANGUAGE

  • Must be able to comprehend the English language and demonstrate the ability to express and exchange ideas through oral and written communication. Also, must be able to convey detailed and important instructions accurately, loudly, and quickly.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic arithmetic required.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Must be able to set priorities and possess the ability to meet deadlines and exercise initiative within allowed limits.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to complete pick up route when other co-works are able.
  • Complete Managers responsibilities on this absence.
  • Assist Director and Manager to complete different tasks.
  • Take care of customer's needs and requests.

  • Must be able to stand and move at a fast pace for the duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift 75 Lbs.
  • Push 2-Yard dumpsters to the rear loader truck.

  • Have the ability to vend, squat and, kneel easily
  • Must be able to continuously lift and enter and exit vehicles throughout shift.
