This leadership role sits at the intersection of insurance taxation, client advisory, and practice development within a dynamic professional services environment. You will oversee a specialized team of tax professionals while ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory services across life, non-life, and captive insurance clients. The role blends deep technical expertise with client-facing leadership, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on involvement in complex tax matters. You will also play a key role in expanding the practice by strengthening client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. In addition, you will act as a technical authority on insurance tax issues, guiding both internal teams and external stakeholders. This is a highly collaborative and growth-oriented environment where leadership, expertise, and client impact are central to success.
- Lead and develop a team of insurance tax professionals, supporting both their technical growth and professional development
- Oversee the compliance function for life, non-life, and captive insurance clients, including review and supervision of federal and state corporate tax returns
- Serve as a technical expert on insurance taxation matters, providing guidance on complex tax issues and regulatory requirements
- Manage and strengthen client relationships while contributing to practice growth and revenue expansion
- Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and building long-term client partnerships
- Conduct tax research and lead the execution of specialized tax projects for insurance industry clients
- Stay current on insurance industry trends and regulatory developments, sharing insights across teams
- Contribute to tax planning strategies and ensure alignment with regulatory compliance standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Active CPA license required
- 10+ years of experience in corporate taxation, with strong insurance industry exposure
- Background in public accounting or a blended public/corporate tax environment
- Proven leadership experience managing client service teams and complex, multi-project engagements
- Strong technical expertise in insurance tax compliance and advisory services
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-responsibility environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide practical tax solutions and strategic guidance
