SUMMARY
The Patient Access Trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive onboarding, ongoing education, and performance-based training for all Patient Access staff. This role ensures accurate patient registration, supports revenue cycle integrity, and promotes consistent adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. The trainer conducts chart audits, evaluates staff competency, and communicates workflow updates to ensure operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, delivers, and maintains structured training programs for new and existing Patient Access staff.
· Conducts chart audits to evaluate registration accuracy and provide timely feedback.
· Creates and run Epic-based reports to support quality, performance improvement, and training needs.
· Serves as an education resource regarding policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Recommends updates to departmental workflows and policies to ensure continued compliance and efficiency.
· Trains new employees in their respective service areas on processes and workflows
· Collaborates with departmental leaders to assess training needs and implement competency-based solutions.
· Communicates effectively with staff at all levels and adapt training methods as needed.
· Performs additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3-5 years’ experience in Patient Access
· Must possess analytical skills for problem solving, training evaluation, and effective organization of responsibilities.
· Possess effective time management skills to permit handling a large workload.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred:
· Experience developing training materials
· Experience with Epic, specifically for Patient Access and Revenue Cycle
