Position Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in shaping the future of our finance organization and overall business strategy. This is a unique opportunity to build and scale the financial function within a highly successful, growth-minded company. The CFO reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key strategic partner in driving the next phase of expansion.

This is a build-and-scale opportunity for a leader who thrives on creating structure, driving clarity, and supporting growth. You will define financial strategy, implement scalable systems, and elevate the finance function to match the pace, complexity, and ambition of the business.

  • Ownership of the department, owning systems and processes AP, AR cash flow analysis, forecasting
  • Creating structure and financial discipline without slowing momentum

  • Partnering closely with executive leadership to influence direction and decision-making

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with long-term growth objectives
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive profitability, expansion, and operational efficiency
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support decision-making across all departments
  • Build scalable financial infrastructure to support multi-location growth

Accounting & Financial Operations:

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Own a streamlined, accurate monthly close process completed within 10 days, and establish scalable financial reporting frameworks providing daily and weekly insights across locations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain the integrity of financial statements and internal controls
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, including the Controller and support staff

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), margins, and cost structures
  • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive job costing accuracy and departmental profitability insights

Cash Flow & Capital Management:

  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital management
  • Optimize capital allocation and support investment decisions
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing strategies

Compliance, Risk & Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
  • Oversee audits, tax filings, insurance, and risk management strategies
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
  • Mitigate financial risks and ensure organizational stability

Systems, Process & Scalability:

  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and integrations (QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, etc.)
  • Lead process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Support cross-functional alignment between finance, operations, and leadership
  • Build structure without slowing down growth

Leadership & Culture:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Align financial discipline with Sunrise’s people-first culture

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • CPA, MBA, or advanced certification strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including Controller or Director-level roles
  • Experience in a high-growth, multi-location, or service-based business preferred
  • Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Experience with financial systems such as QuickBooks, ERP platforms, and field service software (ServiceTitan preferred)
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics capabilities
  • Experience building financial infrastructure in a scaling organization
