Summary:
Vighter is recruiting an Incident Management Team (IMT) Information Tech Section– IT Specialist to support the Emergency Repatriation Program of the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This position is in an "awaiting activation" status until the activation of the IMT for emergency repatriation efforts.
Once activated, IMT Information Tech Section–IT Specialist will deploy with the IMT to respond to OHSEPR emergency repatriations. Candidates must be prepared to deploy within 72 hours when emergency operations are initiated. This position would require pre-activation training and the ability to travel to any Emergency Repatriation Centers as directed.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Responsible for defining, planning, and coordinating the creation, reporting, and testing of Disaster Recovery plans for the Disaster.
- Acts as a liaison to teams in applying a framework to their technology solutions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the National Emergency Repatriation Framework.
- Operate from fixed or mobile locations or provide remote support, as directed by OHSEPR.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have three (3) years of prior professional IT experience.
- Must be proficient in English (read/write/speak).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
Pre-requisite Training
To qualify for the position, must provide a FEMA National Disaster & Emergency Management University Independent Study transcript detailing completion of the following FEMA Independent Study courses listed below:
- IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System
- IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
- IS-240.c: Leadership and Influence
- IS-241.c: Decision Making and Problem Solving
- IS-242.c: Effective Communication
- IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
- IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction
- IS-2200: Basic Emergency Operations Center Functions
- IS-2901: Introduction to Community Lifelines
- IS-405: Overview of Mass Care/Emergency Assistance
- IS-366.A: Planning for the Needs of Children in Disasters
- IS-1152: Blue Campaign First Responder Training
Completion of these courses are uncompensated.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, either day or night.
- Must be willing to deploy within 72 hours of notification.
- Must be able to deploy to an Emergency Repatriation Center for up to 60 days.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
- Must undergo urine drug screening (UDS).
