WAGES

$25.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, hybrid position that may include some evening and weekend hours.

Job Summary

FamilyWise is hiring a Parent Education Program Coordinator to coordinate the referral process for adult parent education, assist in maintaining staffing schedules and manage communication with county referral sources.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage referrals received from the county for programming.
  • Support training and onboarding of new staff and interns.
  • Maintain participant database and prepare data for quarterly reports.
  • Assist with billing processes and contract/program reporting.
  • Provide a safe, neutral environment that fosters positive parent-child interactions.
  • Assess parent/family social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Facilitate parent education sessions using established curriculum and professional expertise.
  • Conduct parenting observations and deliver constructive feedback.
  • Model appropriate social and behavioral skills for families.
  • Deliver life skills education to strengthen family functioning and dynamics.
  • Prepare and submit timely monthly reports.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with county workers, referral partners, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings involving families, professionals, and support systems.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support client outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Child Psychology, Family Social Science, Special Education, or a related human services field; or you have a two-year degree with at least two years of experience providing parenting services.
  • 2–3 years of experience in child development, abuse and neglect services, or parent education, including use of intervention methods for children with special needs.
  • Previous experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations in lower socio-economic communities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Hmong, Somali, Spanish, or other languages is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • The ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and the general public while exercising sound judgment within scope of authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • A thorough understanding of parenting and child development principles.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to contribute in a team-oriented environment.
  • The ability to work independently, establish priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • The ability to travel to client sites within a 15-mile radius as required.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet FamilyWise’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
