Janitorial Floor Technician (PECK) at Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. – Cincinnati, Ohio

Our not-for-profit social service organization is seeking a Floor Technician to become a valuable member of our Goodwill team! If hired, you will become part of the team responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment within one of downtown Cincinnati’s federal buildings. This site is located conveniently close to multiple bus routes, is secure and in pristine condition.

The Janitorial Floor Technician will be responsible for performing janitorial floor work and cleaning assignments on a day-to-day basis according to the specifications stated or as deemed necessary by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school graduate or GED preferred

Experience: 2-5 years of janitorial services, including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning, and operating commercial janitorial floor machinery

Knowledge: Must be able to work independently after being given a directive. Must be a self-starter. Must know chemical and emergency procedures. Must identify and maintain the various floors installed in industrial and office establishments. Must be able to locate and operate the typical janitorial commercial floor machines used to clean industrial and office establishments.

Must be able to pass drug test (as well as random testing)

Must pass clearance background checks under GSA contract.

Available for Work Schedule: 2nd Shift - M-F (12:00 pm to 8:30 pm)

Location: 550 Main Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Capable of performing the specific contractual and functional assignments required by the contract and as assigned by the janitorial supervisor, including but not limited to operating floor machines, stripping and waxing floors, scrubbing floors, buffing floors, carpet cleaning, and other janitorial functions as needed.

Keeps equipment clean and operational and follows preventative maintenance schedule.

Wears safety equipment when and where required

Cleans (sweeps, mops, etc.) restrooms, entrances, warehouse, docks, stores, corridors, lobbies, and office floors

Empties trash receptacles daily

Dust appropriate areas

Vacuum carpets

Other duties as assigned
