About the Role:

The Staff Accountant plays an integral role in preserving the financial credibility of the Company through the completion of day-to-day corporate accounting and reporting activities. This role supports close activities, account reconciliations, variance analysis, accruals, audit support, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.


This is an on-site position based at JSX Headquarters in Dallas, TX

A Day in the Life:

You’ll be…


  • Supporting full-cycle accounting: Gaining hands-on experience across A/R, revenues, and expenses—stepping in where needed.
  • Owning reconciliations and journal entries: Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in alignment with the monthly close calendar.
  • Driving insight through analysis: Participating in the monthly financial review process by providing variance analysis explanations for assigned accounts.
  • Building month-end accrual support: Generating month-end accruals and preparing supporting schedules using Sage Intacct downloads and Excel.
  • Preparing executive-ready materials: Assisting the Accounting Manager in preparing documents and interpreting complex financial information for management and executives.
  • Supporting external audits: Providing details and documentation for requested audit items to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Improving how we work: Making practical recommendations for process improvements with an understanding of the business impact.
  • Partnering cross-functionally: Coordinating and collaborating with teams across Finance, IT, Commercial, and others.
  • Solving and responding: Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Taking on special projects: Supporting department initiatives and other projects as assigned.

  • What Makes a Successful Staff Accountant?

    We’re looking for someone who is:


  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures accuracy and consistency in accounting entries and financial reporting.
  • Organized: Effectively manages multiple priorities and month-end deadlines.
  • Analytical: Reviews data, investigates variances, and provides clear explanations.
  • Proactive: Identifies opportunities for process improvement and takes ownership of solutions.

  • Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
  • 2+ Years of experience as an Accountant or Public Accounting Auditor
  • Understanding of risks and internal control environment and the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of controls
  • Strong understanding and experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines, including month-end close deliverables.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement practical, business-aligned solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document accounting analyses, explain variances, and respond to audit and management inquiries in both written and verbal formats.

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with enterprise accounting software

  • Skill, Licenses, & Certifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred


  • Pay & Perks:

    Compensation is between $65,000 and $70,000 annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
