About The Role:

  • The Social Worker works as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patients experiencing acute mental health challenges, ensuring they receive safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
  • Under the immediate supervision of the Clinical Director, the Social Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments, therapeutic interventions, crisis management, discharge planning, and patient advocacy within an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in social work
  • Current state licensure (LSW, LISW, LPC), or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, crisis intervention, or inpatient hospital setting preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care, and evidence based therapeutic approaches
  • Strong crisis intervention skills
  • Excellent communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • May involve weekend or holiday rotations depending on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, including social history, strengths, risks, and support systems.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to address mental health symptoms, trauma, substance use, and social stressors.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups on topics such as coping skills, stress management, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation.
  • Respond to psychiatric crises by conducting risk assessments for suicide, self-harm, and violence.
  • Participate in safety planning, de-escalation, and coordination with emergency services as needed.
  • Support interdisciplinary team decisions regarding involuntary treatment, holds, and discharge against medical advice.
  • Coordinate aftercare services, including outpatient mental health treatment, residential programs, substance use services, and community resources.
  • Communicate regularly with family members, caregivers, and external providers while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Assist patients in accessing social services such as housing, financial assistance, vocational programs, and insurance coverage.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation.
  • Ensure all assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans meet hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary case reviews

Compensation:

Licensed: $70,000- $75,000

Temporary Licensed: $65,000- $70,000

Master's Level Social Worker: $55,000- $65,000
